Configure Ubiquiti Devices for Bridging101

Ubiquiti Networks devices can be used to create wireless bridges, which allow you to extend your network to remote locations. A bridge is a method of connecting two or more network segments or devices using wireless technology. This guide will show you how to set up a Ubiquiti bridge using AirOS, the operating system used on Ubiquiti devices.

Step 1: Configure the Access Point

The first step is to configure the access point. This will be the device that connects to your existing network and provides wireless connectivity to the bridge. To configure the access point, follow these steps:
Connect the access point to your network using an Ethernet cable.
Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the access point into the address bar. The default IP address is 192.168.1.20.
Enter the username and password. The default username is ubnt and the default password is ubnt.
Click the Wireless tab.
Select the SSID that you want to use for the bridge.
Click the Edit button.
Set the following options:

Mode: Bridge
Channel Width: 20 MHz
Frequency: Select a frequency that is not used by any other wireless networks in your area.
Security: Select a security mode and enter a password.

Click the Save button.

Step 2: Configure the Station

The next step is to configure the station. This will be the device that connects to the access point and provides wireless connectivity to the remote location. To configure the station, follow these steps:
Connect the station to the remote location.
Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the station into the address bar. The default IP address is 192.168.1.20.
Enter the username and password. The default username is ubnt and the default password is ubnt.
Click the Wireless tab.
Select the SSID of the access point that you want to connect to.
Click the Connect button.

Step 3: Test the Bridge

Once the bridge is configured, you can test it by pinging the remote device from the access point. To do this, open a command prompt on the access point and type the following command:```
ping
```

If the ping is successful, the bridge is working properly.

Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble getting your Ubiquiti bridge to work, check the following:
Make sure that the access point and station are using the same SSID.
Make sure that the access point and station are on the same frequency.
Make sure that the access point and station are within range of each other.
Make sure that the access point and station are not obstructed by any objects.
Make sure that the access point and station are using the correct security settings.
