Installation Procedure

Step 1: Determine Camera Location

If the location of the camera has not already been determined, follow the steps below:
Determine the field of view needed for the camera
Locate an appropriate mounting surface within the desired field of view
Ensure the mounting surface is sturdy enough to support the weight of the camera and any additional equipment (e.g. conduit, network cable, etc.)

Step 2: Mark the Mounting Holes

Hold the template against the mounting surface and mark the screw holes with a pencil. The template can be rotated to accommodate various cable-entry positions. Use a level to ensure the template is level.

Step 3: Drill the Mounting Holes

Using the 3/4" self-feeding drill bit, drill the holes for the mounting screws. The depth of the holes should be approximately 2 inches.

Step 4: Install the Mounting Box

Place the mounting box over the mounting holes and secure it with the mounting screws. Ensure that the mounting box is flush against the mounting surface.

Step 5: Drill the Cable Hole

Using the 1 1/2" self-feeding drill bit, drill a hole for the cable to pass through. The hole should be located in the center of the knockout in the mounting box.

Step 6: Feed the Cable through the Mounting Box

Feed the network cable through the cable hole and into the mounting box. Leave enough slack in the cable so that the camera can be easily installed and removed.

Step 7: Connect the Ethernet Cable to the Camera

Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the camera. Secure the connection with a wire nut.

Step 8: Connect the Power Cable to the Camera (if applicable)

If the camera requires a separate power cable, connect the power cable to the power port on the camera. Secure the connection with a wire nut.

Step 9: Install the Camera

Align the camera with the mounting box and install the camera screws. Tighten the screws until the camera is secure.

Step 10: Seal the Mounting Box

Apply a bead of silicone sealant around the perimeter of the mounting box to seal any gaps between the box and the mounting surface.

Additional Notes

If you are installing the camera outdoors, be sure to use weather-resistant sealant and take appropriate measures to protect the camera from the elements.

If you are experiencing any problems with the installation, please consult a qualified professional.

Conclusion

Congratulations! You have now successfully installed your flush mount camera. Please take a moment to review the user manual for more information on operating your camera.
