Prerequisites

Before you begin, you will need the following:
Fleetsmart device
12-volt power source
Ground wire

Step 1: Identify the Installation Location

The Fleetsmart device can be installed in various locations on the vehicle. The ideal location is one that is:
Within reach of the power source
Not exposed to the elements
Not in the way of the driver's view

Step 2: Connect the Power Wires

Step 4: Connect the GPS Antenna

Connect the GPS antenna to the designated port on the Fleetsmart device. The antenna should be placed in a location with a clear view of the sky.

Step 5: Mount the Device

Using zip ties or other mounting hardware, secure the Fleetsmart device in the desired location. Ensure that the device is securely mounted and will not move.

Step 6: Power on the Device

Once the device is installed, power it on by turning the ignition key to the "on" position. The device will take a few minutes to initialize and acquire a GPS signal.

Step 7: Verify Installation

To verify the installation, log in to the Fleetsmart portal and check the status of the device. The device should show as "online" and should be sending data to the portal.
