About the Role:

The Monitoring Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and effectiveness of a large-scale surveillance system deployed across various locations in Tianjin. This role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to guarantee optimal system performance, minimizing downtime and maximizing the value of our security investments. A strong understanding of Hikvision products and their functionalities is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Real-time system monitoring: Proactively monitor all aspects of the surveillance system, including cameras, servers, network infrastructure, and recording devices, using Hikvision's proprietary software and tools. This involves identifying potential issues before they escalate into major problems.

• Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. This requires a deep understanding of IP networking, video compression technologies, and various communication protocols.

• Preventative maintenance: Implement and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule to minimize system downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment. This includes regular software updates, firmware upgrades, and hardware checks.

• Performance optimization: Continuously analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to optimize efficiency and reliability.

• Incident management: Respond promptly and effectively to system alerts and incidents, escalating critical issues to relevant personnel as required. Maintain detailed incident reports and logs.

• Data analysis and reporting: Collect and analyze data related to system performance and operational efficiency. Generate regular reports summarizing key findings and recommendations.

• Collaboration and communication: Work collaboratively with other team members, including engineers, technicians, and management, to ensure effective communication and coordination.

• Security compliance: Adhere to all relevant security policies and procedures to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in surveillance system monitoring and maintenance.

• Proven experience working with Hikvision surveillance equipment (NVRs, DVRs, cameras, VMS software) is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, RTSP).

• Experience with video compression technologies (H.264, H.265).

• Proficiency in using monitoring and management software.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Strong analytical and reporting skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
