How to Disable CVBS on Hikvision Surveillance Systems385

Composite Video Baseband Signal (CVBS) is an analog video signal that is commonly used in older security camera systems. However, with the advent of digital video technology, CVBS is becoming increasingly obsolete. Hikvision, one of the leading manufacturers of surveillance equipment, offers a wide range of digital video recorders (DVRs) and network video recorders (NVRs) that do not support CVBS. As a result, if you are using a Hikvision DVR or NVR, you will need to disable CVBS on your cameras in order to view the video footage.

There are two ways to disable CVBS on Hikvision cameras:
Through the camera's OSD menu: Most Hikvision cameras have an on-screen display (OSD) menu that allows you to configure the camera's settings. To disable CVBS through the OSD menu, follow these steps:

Access the camera's OSD menu by pressing the menu button on the camera.
Navigate to the "Video" or "Output" settings.
Find the "Video Output Format" or "CVBS Output" setting.
Change the setting to "Off" or "Disable."
Press the OK button to save your changes.

Through the Hikvision iVMS-4200 software: If you are using Hikvision's iVMS-4200 software to manage your cameras, you can disable CVBS through the software interface. To do this, follow these steps:

Launch the Hikvision iVMS-4200 software.
Right-click on the camera that you want to disable CVBS on and select "Properties."
Click on the "Camera" tab.
Find the "Video Output Format" or "CVBS Output" setting.
Change the setting to "Off" or "Disable."
Click on the "OK" button to save your changes.

Once you have disabled CVBS on your Hikvision cameras, you will need to connect the cameras to your DVR or NVR using a digital video cable, such as an HDMI cable or a Cat5e cable. You will then be able to view the video footage from your cameras on your DVR or NVR.

If you are having trouble disabling CVBS on your Hikvision cameras, you can contact Hikvision's technical support for assistance.
