How to Disable DHCP on Hikvision Cameras203
Hikvision cameras are a popular choice for home and business security systems. They offer a wide range of features at an affordable price. However, one common question that users have is how to disable DHCP on Hikvision cameras.
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a network protocol that automatically assigns IP addresses to devices on a network. This can be a convenient way to set up a network, but it can also cause problems if devices are not properly configured.
If you are experiencing problems with your Hikvision camera, one possible solution is to disable DHCP. This will allow you to manually assign an IP address to the camera, which can help to resolve any issues.
Steps to Disable DHCP on Hikvision Cameras
Log into the camera's web interface.
Click on the "Network" tab.
Click on the "TCP/IP" tab.
Under the "IP Address" section, select the "Manual" option.
Enter the desired IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address.
Click on the "Save" button.
Note: You will need to know the IP address of your router in order to complete these steps. If you do not know the IP address of your router, you can find it by following these steps:
Open a command prompt.
Type "ipconfig" and press Enter.
Locate the "Default Gateway" entry. This is the IP address of your router.
Once you have disabled DHCP on your Hikvision camera, you will need to manually assign an IP address to the camera. To do this, follow these steps:
Open the camera's web interface.
Click on the "Network" tab.
Click on the "TCP/IP" tab.
Under the "IP Address" section, select the "Manual" option.
Enter the desired IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address.
Click on the "Save" button.
Note: The IP address that you assign to the camera must be within the same subnet as your router. For example, if your router has an IP address of 192.168.1.1, you could assign the camera an IP address of 192.168.1.100.
Once you have manually assigned an IP address to the camera, you should be able to access the camera's web interface by typing the IP address into a web browser.
